July 22, 2013. A BitcoinTalk user named Phinnaeus Gage posts a thread titled “Dogbert is Satoshi Nakamoto!”— arguing that Dilbert's megalomaniacal dog is the real creator of Bitcoin.

The coin already had its name from the funnies — Bertcoin— so the forum runs with it, giving every Bitcoin fixture a Bert version: Mt. Bert, BertExplorer, BertPay, Bert Baccarat.
